thanks to Jenny Beyer, to Frans-Willem Korsten for drawing my attention to Jeroen Mettes' essays, in particular POËZIEFIGUREN and EEN ANDERE SAMENHANG, recently (re)published in Nagelaten werk; to Mayumi Nakazaki and to Jannik P. for letting me stay in his room :) (check out his movie Das Blaue Monster!)

Erdkörper (suns of temper) is a hybrid of film and photography, and an intense exploration of the notion of time. In a confrontation of contradictory time concepts it brings forth a ‘depth of movement’. Material is the tension between two modes of ‘passing time’: the depth of time and the glimpse of a moment, the impossible grasp-ability of time. In this tension Erdkörper (suns of temper) evolves between the nervous paralysis of human beings frozen in a snapshot of an alpine scenery and the attempted enlivening of the moment.
Diagonale 2012
